I got myself enrolled in the G3 and G2 course at NSTA last year in October 2023. I was not sure where to start in this HVAC career but the entire staff especially John, Dustin, CJ and Darren made things go so much easier to achieve my goals I have already got my G3 license and will be writing my G2 this Friday, March 1st. I am so excited to start this new chapter of my life after trade school in the HVAC Industry. Thanks to Carol and the entire team of NSTA for changing lives and making dreams come true for the Newcomers planning to start their career in HVAC. It is never too late until you make up your mind that whatever you need in your life is just one step away from you and that first step is NSTA.

As a student in the G3/2 program in Niagara, I have had the privilege of learning from two exceptional teachers, John and Dusty.

John, the theory teacher, is unparalleled in his dedication to his students. He goes to great lengths to ensure that every student understands the material thoroughly. His teaching style is engaging and effective, making complex concepts easier to grasp. His commitment to our success is truly inspiring, and his efforts have had a profound impact on my learning experience.

Dustin, the practical, hands-on teacher, is equally outstanding. He approaches his work with meticulous attention to detail, always striving for the highest quality. His passion for this trade is evident in his teaching, motivating students to do their best. Under his guidance, I have learned the importance of precision and quality in my work, skills that will serve me well in my future career.

Best thing I ever did with my life professionally … was get this course … in theory it took me longer then I should as I didn’t know what I wanted to do in life as a job but it pushed me to learn new skills and get a trade license I will always have is way worth the time and money …. I was with [John] for the week of review for G3 and I had my test on Friday, August 4th. I just want to let you know and thank you so very much for helping me to achieve my goal of getting my G3 and I got 84% on the test. I took the course for 313D last month with Mr. John Spridzans. I just want to let you know that John did an awesome job, and I was able to pass my 313 D exam from first the time. He helped me a lot by answering all my questions. He is very organized and very expert in what he does. Previously I did my G3 and G2 licenses with him and I passed it from first time as well.

I recently completed my G3/G2 course with John and Dusty as my instructors in the Niagara Day class. I would like to relay my appreciation for the work they did in setting me up for the beginnings of my new career.

John was an absolute privilege to be taught by and his passion for passing on knowledge is quite frankly infectious! He goes above and beyond in his teachings and his way of explaining everything makes learning a lot easier.

Dusty is a top bloke and an excellent teacher! His way of transferring what confuses on paper to the real world is fantastic, I truly enjoyed shop with Dusty and he has given me the skills to do it the right way from the beginning. He took difficult electric diagnostic testing and made it much less complicated to understand, had us installing a furnace and instantaneous hot water heater both of which he was able to guide us in how to set them up both correctly and visually correct.

I have to give an honourable nod to Everett, only had him on Monday but he was a great teacher who possesses a great deal of knowledge and experience and was eager to help with any questions anybody had.

I truly enjoyed my time at Niagara Skilled Trades Academy and hopefully be back soon as John would say “See you in 2 years for your G1”

I am a secondary teacher and have been in education for 33 years.

I was frustrated with my son graduated high school unable to find a direct calling or reason for attending University of College. Wanted the best for him I grew anxious as he started a part time job.

He seemed somewhat interested in trades and determined to not spend $80,000 on University tuition to come out and possibly not find work in the field and be burdened with enormous debt.

A year ago, he came to my husband and I with the idea of attending Halton Skilled Trade Academy and moving into the HVAC Field. I discussed the program with some of my school colleagues and was happy to find out that they had received a lot of good feedback about this school. I did my own investigating as I was not wanting my son to go into something that was not going to lead to job. There are similar courses at other colleges in Ontario but this Trade school was specific to the work my son was wanting to do and he did not have to take other courses that were not related to the field.

Our Son registered in December 2021 to begin his gas licensing at Halton Skilled Trades Academy as a part time student. He attending both zoom and in-class classes. He was thrilled with this course. The instructors were very engaging and interesting, keeping my son very interested while he gained vast amounts of knowledge. The instructors shared many stories of his own experience and made the zoom classes relevant and engaging.

Fast forward through his second gas license with the Halton Skilled Trades Academy and he is beginning to get job offers, people are noticing the knowledge gained at the Skilled Trades academy. He is now working in the field with a reputable HVAC company, and I must say we are thrilled that he has been able to get a job doing exactly what he has wanted to pursue.

If you are considering this program for your son or daughter, I can verify 100% that it is worthwhile endeavour. The Halton skilled trade academy was a great place to get a start in the trades.
