About the Course
The Gas Technician 2 course offered at Niagara & Halton Skilled Trades Academy adheres the official TSSA Gas Technician 2 curriculum, preparing students for the TSSA G2 certification exam.
The Gas Technician 2 certification allows individuals to work independently on natural gas and propane equipment up to 400,000 Btuh. Training is delivered through classroom lectures and practical hands-on learning to provide the students with the skills they need to succeed both on the certification exam and in the field. Evaluation is conducted through written and practical assignments and tests.
Niagara & Halton Skilled Trades Academy is a TSSA approved examination centre for the G3, G2 and G1 licensing examinations.
The Gas Technician 2 course is approved as a vocational program under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
Format / Length
Full Time: 5 classes per week during the day. Monday – Friday for 12 weeks.
Part Time: 3 classes per week. 2 weeknight classes and 1 weekend day class for 24 weeks.

Admission Requirements
Students must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or be at least 18 years of age and pass a Superintendent approved qualifying test (Wonderlic SLE).
Certification
Successful completion of the Gas Technician 2 course grants TSSA G2 certification exam eligibility. The TSSA exam will be held at our location at the end of the training program.
